I glanced around and you were there,
I wanted to speak but wouldn’t dare,
Though on your face,
I found a place,
Finally, I could see.
Come with me.
And in a while, you began to speak,
My words, in turn, were very weak.
I spoke to life,
Though I knew strife,
And you could see.
Come with me.
You turned to me and asked to dance,
But not of course to find romance,
For who was I,
To even try,
One you could see.
Come with me.
And so we danced to a soft refrain,
I gazed into your eyes filled with pain,
What had you lost,
And at what cost,
Could it be?
Come with me.
Music flowed softly through the speaker,
In each other’s arms, we both grew weaker,
For love was there,
And we couldn’t dare,
Not to see.
Come with me.
Love was ours from that moment on,
And all the bad in life was now gone,
For life was ours,
With only flowers,
That we could see.
Come with me.
We left that place and found a beach,
With as many stars that we could reach.
A stretch of sand,
And it was grand,
So was the sea.
Come with me.
And then we threw our shoes away,
Upon the damp sand, we did lay.
We did belong,
What could go wrong,
That we could see.
Come with me.
A gentle rain began to fall,
As beautiful as I could ever recall.
For you were there,
And I did care,
And you could see.
Come with me.
I felt you tremble in my arms,
As I embellished all your charms.
For you were real,
And I could feel,
That you could see.
Come with me.
“For tonight I love you,” I then spoke,
And you knew it was not a joke.
You did not reply,
Nor did you try,
But I could see.
Come with me.
We left that beach but not for good,
For we’d return when we could.
You were mine,
And I was thine,
That we could see.
Come with me.
And so we found that we had lost,
Realized true happiness had no cost.
For all was ours,
We built our towers,
For all to see.
Come with me.
Through each other we discovered love,
No situation we couldn’t rise above.
For there was you,
And there was true,
And there was me.
Come with me.
Your lovely eyes, your lovely face,
Would illuminate each dreary place.
For you were love,
And like a dove,
So gentle to see.
Come with me.
And if tomorrow I should awake,
To discover it was all a mistake,
Then I would die,
And never try,
To find me.
Come with me.
So come with me if you should dare,
To find a happiness that we can share,
And live on dreams,
And childlike schemes,
In a world so bare.
Please…Please come with me.
