How tranquil this morning was,
As I sat looking at the ocean.
I felt like the seagulls
Flying about without notion.
How exalted they seemed,
In their journey less flight.
All this gratifying beauty,
That escaped me at night.
The whitecaps filled the ocean,
For as far as one could see.
Was there anything more beautiful,
Than nature’s own beauty?
The sun filled this setting,
Without the slightest of haze.
To find this kind of serenity,
Once could be in search for days.
The sky above was as blue,
As could be seen in a picture.
The rock that I sat on,
Was a permanent fixture.
As I looked all around me,
The world was at peace,
For this place, I felt,
Couldn’t suffer a crease.
The Seagulls broke the silence,
With their own special song.
Were they trying to tell me,
Nothing here could go wrong?
I had spent all my years,
In a world with a cover,
While this place was here,
Waiting for me to discover.
I knew as the morning wore on,
This paradise would hold people.
For the moments that remained,
Would be my own steeple.
Can the world be so bad,
If places like this still remain?
Why not see our such solace,
Instead of seeking out fame?
There’s much beauty in life,
To share if you will,
And if one ever does realize,
They won’t have their fill.
Someday look all around you,
And see what you’ve missed.
All the things that are free,
Have gone so unnoticed.
If you wake up some morning,
And come down to my beach,
I will share all this beauty,
For as far as you’ll reach.
You’ll no longer feel the pain,
As I too had known.
For this pain will always be there,
Until you’ve fully grown.
